Aaron graduated from the University of Missouri – Rolla (now the Missouri University of Science and Technology) in 2000 with a Metallurgical Engineering degree and is a licensed Professional Engineer in several states. He worked for nine years at a heavy equipment manufacturer in a number of positions including: failure analysis engineer, supply quality engineer for forgings, metallurgical laboratory manager, and process engineering manager for a hose coupling facility.
Aaron has also worked as a market development engineer for a producer of specialty nickel and stainless steels alloys, and at an engineering firm where he was a metallurgical and forensics engineering consultant. Just prior to joining Schaefer Engineering, he spent four years as the technical services manager for a primary producer of copper and brass alloys. Aaron is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (NAFI-CFEI), a 6 Sigma Blackbelt, and is a member of ASM International, NACE International, NFPA, IAAI, and NAFI.
Since joining Schaefer Engineering, Aaron has been involved with failure analysis of various materials and components, materials characterization, corrosion analysis and laboratory testing. These activities supported investigations of fires, explosions, water losses, industrial accidents, and personal injuries.
